I've recently been working on a mambo website, which is a great open source CMS solution. It means that even a klutz like me can throw together a half-useful CMS site in a day or two without having to resort to any coding.
Anyway, the point of my post is that there are some elements of Mambo (and other sites) that don't play nice with Safari, which is my default browser on OS X (there are ways of tweaking Mambo to get it all happy with Safari, btw). For these occasions I had always fallen back to Firefox, but for this project, I have been seriously playing with Camino, and I like it. In fact, I like it enough that Firefox is now gone from my dock, and Camino has replaced it.
I blogged about Camino once before, but never really got round to trying it. I have to say now though that the only thing that Firefox has over Camino (at least, the only thing that actually makes a difference to me) is that Camino does not yet auto-update; you still have to check for updates. With that in mind, Camino 1.0.1 has been released - I recommend you give it a try.
Oh, and it's Mac only ;)

Today I found myself with a spare 20 minutes, so I decided to look into some HD TV stuff. I have a Telewest TV Drive on order, and already have an HD-ready TV, so I can look forward to some tasty HD content in the future.
Now, my TV Drive was ordered mainly for the PVR functionality, so I can record programs on my Telewest cable service in the same way that Sky+ users can record their programs. The HD capability is more of a bonus for now as content is very limited at the moment, but I happened to know that the BBC will be broadcasting World Cup matches in HD, so I rang Telewest to ask what I'd have to do to watch them. The answer? - nothing! There will be a new channel appearing on Telewest shortly which will be BBC HD, and since all the England World Cup matches are on free-to-air BBC channels, I don't even need a premium sports channel subscription. Nice :)
Whilst looking around at what other content might be available, I stumbled across the Sky HD site, which (no matter what you think of the company) is a stunning site, but you'll need a decent computer and broadband to appreciate it.
If you're not sure what all this HD fuss is about, then you might want to try the Wikipedia entry or the more UK-centric Burn Your Bonus HD TV FAQ.

Finally! - Introducing the Macbook.
Man, they look nice :)

Sorry this blog has turned into a bit of a macfest recently - I'll try and find some juicy tidbits that are not Apple-related over the next few days.
