Firefox 1.06 is out already, after 1.05 was released only a week ago. I hear they found a bug that needed fixing. Thunderbird has also been updated to 1.06.
Get 'em while they're hot; they're lovely ;)

Apple just recently hit half a billion legal downloads from the iTunes music store. That's pretty awesome, as I remember when illegal P2P sharing was the only way to download music online. Apple have demonstrated that the world of music distribution is changing; that legal downloads can and do work if done well and that the record industry can still make money doing what they do.

Check out the Flickr Related Tag Browser - it searches flickr images for you in a spanky, flash kind of way. (Flickr is where all the images I use on this blog are hosted).

A bit late on this one, but Nvu version 1.0 is out. Since the Mozilla organisation started making separate, stand-alone apps to complement/replace the multi-purpose Mozilla Suite (such as the Firefox browser and Thunderbird mail client), the composer (html editor) component has been lacking. Nvu is that html composer, and is, as expected, available for Mac, Linux and Windows.

Also, Firefox 1.05 is out today, Apple have released OS X 10.4.2 (best to get it through software update) and a new version of iSync, and Microsoft have issued some patches through Windows Update.

Linux-based internet tablets are like buses; there are none for ages, and then two come along at once. First the Nokia 770 (previous post here) and now the Pepper Pad.

Inside the big switch: the iPod and the future of Apple Computer - some interesting punditry from John "Hannibal" Stokes at Ars Technica discussing the Mac/Intel situation.

Belter! - European Parliament says no to software patents, yes to innovation.
This is ace news - it looks like all our favourite Free and Open Source software can continue to thrive in Europe. If you lobbied your MEP or did anything else to help, then thanks.
Red Hat and Sun have issued a joint statement, but nobody else that I have previously posted about has updated their information pages yet. This is new news!
