What a superb idea! - Westminster City Council have come up with a practical solution to the ever-present problem of "Street Urination".

Sometimes real life is better than a joke.

newzbot - how useful is this?!....:)
I was looking for a newsgroup on a specific model of motorbike, and couldn't find any for the model and year I wanted on my ISP's news server. So I started looking for free news servers on the web (because I'm too tight to pay for Usenet), and found this amazing page. If you're after newsgroup servers, then newzbot is your site!

Lindows vs Microsoft - it seems that Microsoft's plans to impede Lindows are not going as well as planned. Lindows is a new OS based on Linux and WINE that is designed to offer a low-cost alternative to MS Windows, whilst still supporting MS applications. It will also still support Linux (i.e. Open Source) apps, and first release is due out this year.

Space Adventures - this is the company that is planning to develop a passenger spacecraft. $100,000 a flight and you'll get to fly in space for 3 minutes. There's an article here. I just hope that it's not being run by Aeroflot........

Pop Star Monks - "The Internet and information has consumed you... together with your freedom you will lose your soul."
.....another beautiful news story from the real world. Further reports here. If anyone finds their actual website, please let me know.....

Another tip-top flash site at subakt - unfortunately lots of it is in French, but it looks great. One of the intros reminded me of tron, and there's some great, dark, suburban artwork involved.

I also found the experimental magazine site quite attractive (ahem), but it's also superb for the links - everything has style.

Both of these were picked up from 45 degree angles, blogged earlier.

Liked this article on another reason why Mac's are great and PC's are shit. It's all true. I just wish I could afford a Mac............

45ยบ ANGLES - another tasty flash website. Presently awaiting the new version, but there's a link to the old version of the site which is ace. Check out the flash experiments and the cool wallpapers.

Apple Accused of Piracy by Disney Chief - slightly suspect headline really, but is this an indicator that all is not well between the Apple and Disney camps? Particularly interesting when you consider that Steve Jobs owns Pixar........

Adminspotting
I ripped this off from a link at Jim's Blog, but this gives a better quality view of the Adminspotting monologue, which is probably only entertaining if you're an IT techie geek like us.......

Prince Philip offers sharp remark - there's just no keeping this bloke in check, is there?.......!

Telewest to fight BT with faster broadband .... BT present lower cost ADSL, so Telewest begin putting together a 1Mb/s offering. I like the idea of that.
Arguments about contention ratios are still rife (see the article), but I've heard that BT's case is based on the final, user tier of the network, and that when you get back a couple of tiers to the WAN pipes, routers and internet backbone links then BT's is worse than cable's. But then I hate BT anyway - they're thieving, conniving, underhand and obstructive tw*+s...... (insert your own rant here), and I like my cable broadband internet, so I might be biased?.....
