CAcert Inc: The Free Community Digital Certificate Authority. Another interesting one for the geeks - free SSL certificates.
Apparently, the Mozilla and Konqueror teams are considering including the root certificate as a trusted CA in future releases of their browsers.
This is one of those things that could really cause a change in the online security industry, if it's executed well. See the article here for a bit more discussion.
